Brian Wolk and Claude Morais of Ruffian, along with a team of many creative minds, debuted 'Toile' this morning at the Lincoln Center for day four of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2012. The collection featured peplum jackets, corsets and painter jackets embellished by bouclé, brocade and bows.
The line was inspired by Baroque minimalism from the designers own neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The pastel pinks and blues were complimented by whites and crémes, with the style remaining structured and casual simultaneously. The detailed garments were reminiscent of the Baroque era, which was used as inspiration for Fall 2012 amongst many designers. The 35 looks give something to look forward to come Spring, as well as anticipating more from the native designing duo.
