Fashion Week LA: Day Two

After two days, I am eagerly anticipating the next three!
Although the weather was not prime for looking you absolute best, current 82°F, the breeze that rolled in at 5pm was a life saver!
The early evening began with a cocktail hour, sponsored by Status Vodka and Peligroso Telquia, in the courtyard of the Vibiana.  Photographers mingle amongst the networking crowd, snapping shots of LA street chic and fashion icons gabbing away.

The first designer to show, PaulieGibson. Originally from St. Louis, Gibson spent time in New York interning for Dsquared2, until he came up with his concept for men’s and women’s wear.  His line for Spring/Summer 2013 consisted of bold colors and prints, featured on both the male and female models in correlation.  It was refreshing to see such fabrics as silk and prints with bamboo on a male model while still making sense.  The combination of both sexes on the runway made for a fun and flirty show.
Taken, by Jane Booke, made its fragrance debut along side Booke’s latest creations in sultry women’s wear. The models pranced down the catwalk spritzing the floral scent into the crowd in their playful silk and chiffon dresses. It was unique way to combine the two products for a Fashion Week launch.
After a brief intermission consisting of more networking and a few runs across the street to Pitfire Pizza, the night continued on with a performance by Local Socialite and Madison Park. Local Socialite, featured on, is a semi fast fashion brand with colorful printed leggings and over size sweaters with studded embellishments. Madison Park finished the night off with printed men’s board shorts and leather bomber jackets, as well as a choreographed dance to Michael Jackson!
