Trend-spotting: Spring Accessories

Fashion week around the world is well underway and the red carpet events are wrapping up. These events give us an opportunity to analyze street style and trends and implement them into our wardrobes for the season.
So here are a few products and trends spotted from the runway, red carpet and street to you!

The first trend is the vintage throw back.  Color and print are a must this Spring season and the best era to pull inspiration from seems to be the 60's and early '70s's.  Vintage tortoise framed oversized glasses and Sperry-esque boating shoes are must-haves in the next few months. Try these suggestions plus one from ShoeDazzle!

The second trend is grunge. Not popular since the '90s, grunge is making a comeback on the runway and in retail stores. Recently at New York Fashion Week, BCBGMAXAZRIA's models rocked beanies down the catwalk and Nicholas K embodied the movement perfectly in his Fall/Winter 2013 collection with baggy pants, aviator glasses and hoods. Keep your eyes out for a good pair of acid wash distressed boyfriend jeans.

The last trend spotted is embellishment. Accessorizing minimaly with statement making pieces is the latest in bling. As seen at the Oscars this year, small diamond chain necklaces were paired with massive drop earrings and cocktail rings. Check out these affordable picks from Forever21!

Feel free to mix and match these styles to create your own look and draw inspiration from sites like Pinterest and the blogs following Fashion Week. Happy trending!
