Due to my affinity for excess and opulence combined with my love for iconic success stories, visiting the historic Hearst Castle was A MUST! Afterall, when something takes 28 years to be half way completed, it's worth a gander.
Though the castle is known for its decdent artwork, exorbitant decorative accents and unique architecture, Hearst is best known for its extensive roots in early publication including Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. Clearly exhibiting its family grown success over the past few decades as the leader in editorial and publishing, the castle stands as an indication of the history and their early mark on American Society.
With all of that in mind, I wanted to be as reverently decadent and stylish as I could while visiting.
