With Spring just around the corner, at least our schizophrenic weather is lending to the thought at the moment, I am exploring sheer options for weekend casual wear. Nordstrom has always been in one of my top places to trend spot. I like to visit the t.b.d. shop within Nordstrom and peruse the new labels, some I'm familiar with, others are recent and unfamiliar. Regardless, the merchandise seems to be organized according to style, which makes it much easier to shop!
Recently, I visited the Nordstrom at South Coast Plaza to view the 1.State Spring collection launch with InStyle Magazine and Kim from eat.sleep.wear. The predominant trend I spotted was better fabrics, cleaner lines and high construction. Finally!
It seems the contemporary brands are taking note of the demand for better quality and the Nordstrom buyers are listening! 1.State, Chelsea28 and Norstrom's own Trouvé are among the brands that I really noticed a difference in quality than what I am used to seeing at department stores, which have always been a destination for higher quality among shoppers.
I firmly believe that a store's merchandise is based on customer demographic, so I anticipate other department stores are following suit in buying patterns and leaning towards supreme quality and less short-lived trend wear seeing as how the customer is becoming more sophisticated.
